These terms govern your use of Get BINformed. By using the service, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

Informational service

Get BINformed is an independent informational service. It is not a waste hauler, recycler, disposal facility, government agency, environmental consultant, emergency service, or legal adviser. The service summarizes public information for convenience and does not replace instructions from your local authority, hauler, product label, facility, or emergency personnel.

Household scope

The service covers ordinary residential items. Verified local instructions are available only for displayed collection programs; other areas receive general national guidance and an explicit notice that the local rule has not been verified. The service is not designed for commercial, industrial, biomedical, construction, radioactive, explosive, contaminated, or otherwise regulated waste.

Location and service-boundary limits

A ZIP code represents postal delivery geography and may cross city, county, hauler, apartment, and collection-program boundaries. Browser location and ZIP-center coordinates can also be approximate. A location match does not prove eligibility for a collection program. Confirm the provider on your bill or cart and check the linked official source before acting.

Rules and facility details can change

We review official public sources and display a verification date, but collection contracts, boundaries, event dates, facility hours, fees, eligibility, preparation rules, and acceptance limits can change without notice. Confirm the linked official source before acting and call the relevant provider before traveling when details are time-sensitive or a result tells you to confirm.

Safety and emergencies

Never place loose sharps, hot ashes, leaking chemicals, pressurized cylinders, or damaged lithium batteries in a household cart. Follow product labels and official safety directions. For a spill, fire, poisoning, exposure, or immediate threat, contact the appropriate emergency service instead of relying on this site.

Acceptable use

You may use the service for lawful personal and informational purposes. You may not interfere with its operation or security, introduce malicious code, scrape or overload it in a way that disrupts access, misrepresent its content or source relationships, or use it to violate another person’s rights or applicable law.

Ownership and permitted sharing

The site design, branding, software, organization, and original explanatory content are owned by or licensed to Get BINformed and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Government rules and linked third-party materials remain subject to their respective owners’ rights. You may share an individual result for personal, noncommercial use if you keep its official-source link and do not imply government endorsement.

Advertising and third-party services

The service may display clearly identified advertising or use third-party services, including Google AdSense. Advertisers do not author or control Get BINformed’s disposal guidance, and an advertisement is not an endorsement. Your interactions with an advertiser or external service are between you and that party and may be governed by separate terms and privacy policies. Advertising is disabled in the current build.

No endorsement or agency relationship

A link, agency name, program name, or facility name identifies a source or possible destination. It does not mean that the agency, program, facility, advertiser, or other third party sponsors, endorses, or is affiliated with Get BINformed.

Disclaimer of warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of accuracy, completeness, availability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or that every result will remain current. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Get BINformed and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for losses arising from reliance on a result, rejection of an item, travel, fees, property damage, service interruption, or a third-party site. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Changes, severability, and contact
